FAQ

Frequently asked questions about AI consulting

Answers to the most common questions about AI strategy, implementation and compliance.

Not necessarily. As part of the data & AI readiness assessment, we first check which data sources are already usable and where gaps exist. Many use cases can be piloted with existing systems and targeted adjustments — a complete data infrastructure is usually only required once you scale. This way you avoid upfront technology investments that later turn out to be the wrong size.
Depending on complexity, we typically see 6 to 12 weeks from potential analysis to the first pilot. The AI roadmap itself is usually ready after 2 to 3 weeks, followed by a prioritised use case as a pilot deployment. We deliberately favour small, measurable steps over big-bang projects so you see real value quickly.
Costs depend on scope and maturity level — from a focused potential analysis to full implementation support. In the free 30-minute initial consultation, we provide a transparent cost estimate based on your concrete use cases. Many mid-sized companies start with a clearly scoped pilot to make investment and value directly comparable.
The EU AI Act classifies AI systems by risk level and sets different requirements for transparency, documentation and human oversight depending on the intended use. We assess early which risk category your planned use case falls into and build the necessary compliance measures directly into the implementation — instead of retrofitting them later. This avoids costly rework and legal uncertainty.
In our experience, AI shifts tasks rather than replacing jobs — repetitive work gets automated while value-adding tasks stay with people. What matters is proper support: without change management and training, uncertainty and resistance build up in the team. That's why enablement is a core part of our AI projects, not an afterthought.
An AI strategy is the most sensible way to factor in the EU AI Act from the start rather than retrofitting it. In our AI roadmap we take the EU AI Act, GDPR and ethical guidelines into account and check which requirements apply to each prioritised use case. This avoids costly rework when a pilot is due to go into regular operation.
We analyse your processes, assess the feasibility of potential use cases and rate them in a prioritisation matrix. For the most promising use cases we prepare a business case with an ROI assessment, so you start where the value is greatest.
Yes. We support tool selection and evaluation, set up pilot projects and help with rollout and integration into your existing IT landscape. Data protection and GDPR-compliant AI are considered from the outset.
We can usually start within 1–2 weeks. We work remotely, in a hybrid setup or on-site in Hamburg and across Germany — and, if you wish, support you with just a clearly defined sub-task such as a potential analysis.
Yes – for example to derive first test case drafts from requirements, generate test data or cluster and analyse defect reports. The results always need a professional review by experienced testers: AI speeds up the work but does not replace judgement. Since we offer ISTQB-based software quality assurance alongside AI consulting, we can combine both in one project if you wish.
With acceptance criteria agreed in advance and realistic test cases drawn from your processes. Business users check the AI’s results against typical and critical cases, and deviations are documented and assessed. Only when quality, data protection and traceability are right does the solution go live – supported by our team from Hamburg, remotely or on site.
We make risks visible from the start: data quality, data protection, EU AI Act requirements, integration into existing systems and employee acceptance are assessed during the potential analysis and backed with countermeasures and owners. A limited pilot project shows early whether a use case holds up before larger investments are made – supported by our team from Hamburg, remotely or on site.
Besides management as sponsor, above all the business unit whose process is to be improved, as well as IT, data protection and information security. If the AI solution affects employees’ work, the works council should also be involved early, as in Germany it has co-determination rights for technical systems capable of monitoring behaviour or performance. We clarify who needs to be involved during the potential analysis – remotely or on site for companies in Hamburg and across Germany.
